The Liebster Award

Yep, this post isn’t a recipe post and you’re probably wondering why.  I’ve been nominated for the 2017 Liebster Award and after answering a few question from the one who nominated me, I will be nominating a few blogs myself.

So what is the Liebster Award? The Liebster Award is an award began in 2011 and exists only on the internet in which bloggers give this award to other blogger. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cue, endearing and welcome. The Liebster Award help blogger to be discovered and to connect and be supported within the blogging community.

To begin, I would like to thank Tori Carroll from xoxotoric for nominating me. Her blog ranges from pop-culture to fashion advice, so you should definitely check it out!

A blog that I particularly love is Damn Delicious. I love their layout and of course, her posts are amazing.Damn Delicious is a food blog, sharing a variety of recipes; if you name it, she’s probably got it. Damn Delicious is definitely a blog that I admire and has inspired me to write my own. Thus, Cooking Of A Lifetime came to be. Not only does she post on her blog but also Instagram and I really love how they upload short videos of her recipes. Go take a look at this blog and I’m sure you’ll agree!

As mentioned before there is a Q&A for me to answer with questions created by Tori.

1. If you could only take 1 more trip, where would you go?

I would travel to Italy because I’ve never been there and not to mention, they’ve got an amazing cuisine. Who can resits pasta, pizza and all their lovely desserts? Plus, with all the food porn trending on social media, there’s always an Italian city featured for the most extravagant dishes.

2. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

I would choose teleportation. I have to admit, I not the most patient person and I hate waiting in lines. The bus line to and from school is always super long, waiting for at least 40 minutes. With teleportation, I’d be anywhere I’d want to be in less than a second!

3. What is your favorite traveling memory?

It was a school trip to New Zealand and I remember feeling super nervous and home sick because it was my first time going overseas without my family. Eventually, I got used to being away from home and I didn’t want to leave New Zealand. I was introduced to their culture and experienced activities I never though I’d try before, for instance, mountain biking. One of my favorite parts of the trip was staying overnight on a boat at Milford Sound. I’ve never been a fan of boats but this was an exception. The view was amazing and if you’ve ever been there, I’m 100% sure you’ll agree.

4.Would you rather explore the deep ocean or outer space?

To be honest, neither one of these sound appealing or fun to me but if I had to choose, I’d choose outer space. Imagine seeing the world from above like in the movies. I’m sure it’s spectacular in person.

5. What is your favorite city to travel?

I’ve mostly travelled through Asia and I really loved visiting Tokyo. Japan has such a lively culture and (once again I’m being a total foodie) they have a delicious cuisine. Tokyo is what I’d call a “cute” city because almost everything in the heart of the city is covered in cartoons and illustrations. The people are super polite and if you’re visiting during cherry blossom season, it’s super relaxing and stress free when walking under trees of beautifully bloomed flowers.

6. What is your favorite time of the year?

I’ve always had trouble answering this question because there’s so many positive points about each season. However, I do love sweater weather, my beanies and I love the Christmas spirit. Winter is my winner.

7. What is one piece of advice that you want to pass along to whoever is reading this right now?

My advice is to never let anything stop you or discourage you from doing what you want. For me, this was blogging. I don’t get many views but I continue anyways, hoping that one day I’ll make my breakthrough. But the main thing is, I enjoy cooking and baking and uploading it onto my blog is just something extra. If someone happens to pass by it, I’m glad they did and hope they’d give one of my recipes a go.

8. Small town or big city?

Big city. Big cities usually have everything around making getting things or to place easier. While I’d love to go to a small town for a holiday get away, I’d like to live in a big city.

9. What is your favorite way of getting around (plane, train, car, etc.) when travelling?

I’m stuck between car and train. Travelling by car is always fun and you get the sense of a road trip. However, when I’m in a different country, traveling by local transportation by train gives the whole experience. It submerges you into the daily lives of the locals who live there.

10. What is an under-appreciated travel spot?

I think Madagascar is an under-appreciated travel spot. I guess it’s because it would only sound appealing and the dream holiday location for naturalists and adventurers. But Madagascar isn’t just about the wildlife. I did some research and it has some of the best beaches in the Indian Ocean. Located on the north-eastern coast of the island, Miavana, it’s a great private getaway.

11. If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

I’d like to have Stephen Hawking. After reading and watching movies about Stephen Hawking’s life, he has become a very inspirational figure. He’s an example of truly not giving up what one loves and learning to live and accept unfortunate conditions. While I’m no where near as smart as him, I’d like to hear about some of his theories and findings. I think they’d be quite interesting. Understanding them… well… that’s another issue.

Now, drumroll please! Here are my nominees! (In no particular order)

  1. Jamie Howsare
  2. Nereid Odelette
  3. Salman Chatta
  4. Pho Ebe
  5. David Muckersie
  6. Elissa Mowery
  7. Julie Torres
  8. Valerie Ohata
  9. Emily Adrian

Here are my questions:

  1. What is the most extreme thing you’ve ever done?
  2. If you could travel any place in the world, where would it be and why?
  3. Would you rather scuba dive or sky dive?
  4. If you could meet any fictional character, who would it be and why?
  5. What is your favorite dish?
  6. Pizza or pasta?
  7. Dark, milk or white chocolate?
  8. Where is your favorite place to relax?
  9. What is your favorite music album / song and why?
  10. What is your favorite sport?
